You're growing what??

Its mid-August, and after three days of massive gales I crept outside to survey the damage.
Branches everywhere, but look what else I found...
Baby turnips

Snow peas

Spuds

Lemons

Nearly ripe mandarins
And winter isn't even done yet. Methinks its time to get clearing out the vege beds and getting the spring plantings in. :)

4 people love me:

yum! well done! I'm still waiting for peas and citrus to ripen. Your baby turnips are looking very nice, mine didn't get any bigger than that, I thought that was full size!

Why thank you :D I was surprised mine were so far along, but I think I say that every year!
You don't want your turnips to get any bigger, once mine get to cricket ball size, they get woody and the flavour... dear looooord, its vile.

I feel your possum pain. Ours don't go so much for the vege garden (mostly because the chooks beat them to it), but they love all the fruit, especially the apples.

One night last autumn I was lying in bed and could actually hear a possum out in the garden munching its way through an apple, cheeky sod didn't even finish it, just got half-way through and then started another one. Wretched animals! :D
