It's been with a great deal of consideration that I write this blog entry.
A few weeks ago I was watching Grey's Anatomy, it was the final episode, and the character Dr Miranda Bailey handed over her responsibilities in the hospital clinic to Izzy. When she was asked why she was giving up something she loved so much she said the following...
I have realised that I cannot do it all and have it all at the same time.
These words resonated with me.
I am exhausted.
The reason I am exhausted are that I am trying to do it all and have it all, and I too have finally realised that it is just not possible.
I have enjoyed writing this blog, words cannot describe how much. However, lately I've been struggling, at home, at work, and with my writing. Something has to give and I'm sorry to say that the blog is going to be one of those things.
I'm not closing it down completely, and perhaps when things calm down a bit and I've got my mojo back I'll get back to my old form. However, for the time being I'm planning on a once a week update which will focus on what writing I am doing.
Again, thank you all for reading my blog, you have no idea how much I appreciate you all.

Hey Caitlyn,
I'm hearing you. That's why I left work. I decided to put the kids and writing first (and thankfully hubby was A-okay with supporting that).
The one thing they fail to tell you about super mums, who seem to be able to do it all, is that they are f*cking miserable. And it is all about the journey, not just the destination. It would suck to look back on the cherished days of your kids youth and realise they were not cherished and that you hated them (the days, not the kids!). You gotta put the important things first.
So, I for one will look forward to your weekly updates, and hope that you get a bit of breathing room.
I read in a famous psychology magazine (ahem, Oprah's mag) this quote:
Getting what you go after is success; but liking it while you are getting it is happiness.
Bertha Damon.
Everyone deserves to be happy!! (except serial killers, for obvious reasons)
So do what you gotta do, Cait
Cheers,
Kirsty
Hey Cait
Totally totally totally understand. I have been having similar thoughts myself about my blog. It's fun being 'out there' and getting comments and stuff from people but sometimes it takes such valuable time away from the actual writing.
I too look forward to your weekly updates and wish you well with your writing.
RACH!
Cait I am so glad to read about your decision. You, like many of us, tend to be much too hard on yourself about what you're getting done, how fast you're getting it done etc. Sometimes we all have to give ourselves a break and slow down. Do what you can hon, and I'll keep an eye on you here. That probably sounded stalker-ish :).
Love
Sami
Well, darn Cait...can't you give up your work rather? Or get a full time nanny? Or something? I mean this blog is important to me...
:D
I loved the last episode of Grey's. And I'm glad you "got it". Good on you for cutting back. Just hope this gives you more free time. More you time.
Oh, and go for a massage, and a pedicure. You'll feel like you've been away for the weekend. (Yeah, yeah... I can already hear you say..."When would you like me to fit that in?")
