Cake Friday

First, apologies for no update yesterday.  Blogger died. Big time.

So, Cake Friday. As you will recall I was fired from making my mother's birthday cake last week by my sister.  Well, this is the paltry offering she came up with instead...
Why yes, that is solid chocolate on top
It was served with a raspberry coulis and cream
The sponge I had in mind would've been Just As Good.  It would've.

sigh.

On an entirely different subject, I wanted to note here that I will not be entering into the Kidspot Top 50 Win a Ford Territory For A Year competition.  Why? Because I already have the X-Trail and the Mitsubishi and really don't need another car for a year.  And there are bloggers out there who really DO need a car.

I met the Ford Territory in question at the Top 50 launch last Monday.  Its lovely.  It really looks like a great car - and I'm going to be breathtakingly excited for the blogger who gets to have it.  So go to it, all 49 of you.  May the best blogger win.

What a cute blog -- so glad I stopped by! The cake is making me hungry -- especially since I'm viewing this just before supper (smart, huh?). Yes, Blogger did indeed die -- very frustrating, wasn't it?!

Thanks plantpostings, glad you like it and thanks for dropping in, always welcome :)  Sorry about the hungry.  And yes, I was a lost soul yesterday with no blogger.

That's a hell of a cake. Should be enough left to post out to us while we blog. Wasn't the loss of blogger a pain. And when it came back it had lost my previous post which never re-appeared. Shame it was the most researched, with the best photographs, text etc. Had to redo it all!
I'm sure it was the same for a lot us us.......

Well I've voted for you; even if you don't need the car, you have a lovely blog.

That cake, well, it makes me want to go make a chocolate sponge. Only not one that complicated. I'm not that patient. So, to draw a conclusion from that, your sponge would have been just as good, if not better for the shorter prep time and much less washing up.

Thanks Tenille :)  The votes are still great, I appreciate them!!

And LOL, I think washing up is a major factor in cake deliciousness!

I agree Janet, one HELL of a cake and it tasted as good as it looked. Erm, leftovers? You haven't met my husband!!

Blogger going out like that was a bit of a wakeup really.  We all rely on it so much, but what's to say it won't just disappear one day.  Am investigating backups.

I kinda thought we were obliged to enter and now I wish I took the high road like you did (sorry about the appalling pun!) x
