So its wretched hot. We've hit 43.6 this afternoon and all my celery seedlings have burnt off - which I'm almighty cranky about. The kids are going nuts, trapped inside and we aren't even able to keep them entertained with DVDs.
Though to be honest I don't really blame them. Presently we are watching Barnyard and it has to be one of the weirdest kids movies ever - although the prize for the completely weirdest ever goes hands down to Kimba.
My main issue with Barnyard and its MALE lead cow, Otis. Here is his picture.
Is it just because I'm a dairy-farmers grand daughter that I'm having difficulties with this?
Argh.
So, in desperation I am about to whip out the sewing machine, sew two sheets together and turn the dining room table into a cubby house. Yes. It has come to this. School, five sleeps and counting.
13 people love me:
It's horrendous isn't it, I had to clean the house because we have visitors coming tomorrow and I feel like I've run marathon. (Or how I assume I would feel, should I be that crazy).
My little chicks are now in the garage cos they looked a bit stressed, how are your girls? Heat can be lethal.
Girls are okay, been checking on them and spraying with water - they're in deep shade. :)
Cleaning the house UG. Have no intention whatsoever of doing that until long after school goes back.
Tomorrow is going to be worse, but at least now they're saying the change will get here mid-afternoon. I hate this weather.
Yup, I'm a cattleman's granddaughter and I'm very disquieted too... :o)
I remember Kimba!! I loved that cartoon, don't tell me they've ruined it with a dodgy movie remake??
God bless the fellow who invented air con, it was wayyy too hot today!
I'm a dairyfarmer's daughter & I can totally understand where you're coming from!! LOL ;)
Can't stand Barnyard either.
Your poor little chickies, hope they're all ok if the heat continues.
Your poor celery babies - what a horrible way to go :o(
Btw, I know it's daggy and a bit of a "dad-joke" (what we call it in this house)... but the title of your post just keeps making me giggle when I see it in my blog roll.
:-)
I don't think it has anything to do with being any type of farmers daughter.
Anyone with a medium level of intelligence would have to be at least a little disturbed by a set of sexually mature mammary glands on character that is supposedly male. There is only a couple of ways that happens.. and I can't really think of an understandable way to explain trans-gender cartoon characters to the 3 - 5 set.
Luckily most city kids won't be knowledgeable enough to ask the difficult questions but still.
Kind Regards
Belinda
LOL BeingMe - we call 'em Dad Jokes as well. Hubby is awesome at them. And am keeping a very close eye on the chooks. :)
LOL Belinda - my two are too young to notice and its an awful movie, so it won't be getting another go around in this house - awkward topic neatly avoided - PHEW.
